Cradle progress!

I'm not very good at woodworking, but I do love sanding! It's very satisfying to have something all smooth and neat when you are done with it! This is me taking a Dremel sanding bit to the handle of the crib.

While doing it, I felt like I was decorating a cake!

This is the first glue together step. That is the foot of the cradle jigged to the side before we glued it. The cradle is a parallelogram, but not a rectangle. Ergo, Andrew and I had a long conversation about how to resolve an 8degree vector so that the foot would not come sliding off the base. Never did I think I would actually USE anything I learned in physics!

Both head and foot all glued to one side! This is one emergency trip to Home Depot later. We needed more clamps! There are two 2 1/2 foot bar clamps each plus three C clamps ( 1 extra deep) for the head, and a similar number for the foot. Plus, there is a homemade L shaped brace on each side. Plan is to glue the other side on tomorrow; glue the sides to the base tomorrow night, and stain it on Monday!
