What a great weekend!

We had a great weekend. The NJ National Guard has a training center on the shore in Sea Girt. It is free for military families. It also has fabulous parking, and a great bath house to change. What more could you want? So, we did a little planning, and packed up and went to the beach this weekend. OMG. The beach is my favorite place ever!

Here's Andrew chilling with the little man.

Here's Andrew just chilling!

Being part fish, I had to get in the water. It was very cold, but, I like cold water. I was very happy for my fleece though. LLBean to the rescue! This picture could also be titled "Michele in her Natural Habitat"

Now you will notice in the picture, Andrew and I have done something very clever. We utilized tail-gating technology to make our day at the beach better. We bought a 10'X10' tent. It was the best. Plenty of shade to stretch out in for everyone!

And then, when we had a squall, a bunch of neighbors came under the tent with their kids! We think the kids didn't want to get wet.

Snoozing

I have to admit, Zach is a pretty good napper. We've moved him to napping in his crib and it seems to be working. Alas, I am not sure how much longer he is going to be in the cradle, but I'm not ready for him to move!

Testing Video Access Houston

Andrew and I are considering the purchase of a camcorder. However, we have video capabilities on our camera so we are going to start trying videos with that. Of course Zach isn't doing much except smiling and giggling right now, which we find adorable, but, may be less enthralling to a general audience!

4th of July

Happy Independence Day! We started our weekend out in grand fashion. We went to a reading of the Declaration of Independence on the steps of the Borough Hall. More than 100 people read and about 200 people showed up all together.

Standing in line to read

There is no such thing as a good picture of someone reading!

Mom read too!
With Zach afterwards. He was quiet for most of the ceremony. Until the choir started belting out the Battle Hymn of the Republic over a tinny loudspeaker anyway!

Animals that I love

Many people told me that once we had Zach, that the animals would become second fiddle. Well, if I do say so, that hasn't really happened. Kovi plays second fiddle to nothing at 5AM when he wants to eat! So here are some pictures of the furkids.

OK, so my house isn't that big, but for cats who purport to hate each other, they are awfully snuggly.

Medchen, bless her little heart, hates having her picture taken. She won't leave her ears up, she will cower and generally act like the world is ending.
