Doughnuts and haircuts

Well, truth be told, it has been a hard week. But, we have 2 delightful boys that tend to concentrate our energies. They can be exhausting, but are great fun. So after my sterssful day, I made a batch of beignets and used them to bribe small boys to be still for haircuts.
It is hard to tell from the picture, but Zach was getting a little shaggy. Plus, he was getting bed head in the morning. A quick application of the clippers solves that problem!

As Ben can now sit up by himself, it was time to continue the tradition of shaving heads to make his hair grow in thicker

Sleeping boys

We had about 30m of peace and quiet with 2 boys sleeping at the same time yesterday.

My little angel. Thanks for the typo catch Alex!

Yes, he has a bed. But, curling up in a quilt with Fumble is very snuggly too!

Boys who move!

Sometimes we move forwards

And sometimes we don't

Ben's trying to learn to crawl. Except he pushes himself backwards most of the time.

And sometimes he gets stuck. And then Mommy and Daddy are mean and take pictures instead of coming to the rescue!

Zach in the Morning

Do you think Dad's gonna notice I was at the computer?

Here's a smile Mom

I am not impressed with the level of housekeeping says Zach!

But I sure do love playing with the broom!

2 Boys Wiggling

are awfully hard to take pictures of!! I've been trying to get action shots of the boys playing together and I am just not getting them! But, these are some that I too to try and give a flavor of the general cute nuttiness of the boys!

Wiggling on the playmat

Darn, I wish I could walk says Ben!

Dude, you are stuck under the chair...

Crawling backwards, just like Ben!

Happy Homesteaders

This is a picture of the most perfect cheesecake I have ever made. Now, it is quite different from the chocolate kaluha cheesecake I have made in the past. This one was just a plain simple straight up, Happy Valentine's Day Andrew, cheesecake. It was glorious. Just the right combo of flavors and textures!

And what better activity than to plant seeds when there is 2 1/2 feet of snow on the ground? We are starting our seeds in Cow Pots. They are biodegradable and made of cow manure. So, after the threat of frost has passed, I'll plant the tomatoes in the pots in the ground!

Meanwhile, Dad and Ben brewed beer. This "New England Chestnut Brown Ale". Should be ready in about 8 weeks. Feel free to stop by for some! We have Celebrate Ale (like a Sierra Nevada Celebrate), British Bobby's Best Bitter, and Better than Sex Chocolate Stout bottled for drinking currently. We have a Belgian being cask conditioned as well. So clearly, we are rolling on the beer. Come down the shore and have some!

Taking advantage of the natural cooling system to cool the wort. Note the garden cart in the background. That cart comes up about 3 feet.

Serious work!

I think you need help with that dad!

Zach has started saying "hewlp" when he needs something. Usually, it is for something he's not supposed to be doing. It is pretty hard not to crack up at his pleas even when he's doing something wrong.

This way dad?

That sure is tall!

Putting up shelves

Well, no matter what the weather outside, there comes a time in the new year when it is time to start the seeds. The first step is to assemble the shelves that the seeds go on.

Ben's first year to help!

Getting underfoot

Are you sure that is straight Dad?

Zach loves zipties!

More snow

Hamming it up

What's back there mom?

It's everywhere

Those drifts are almost as tall as I am

Zach in the Snow!

I'm ready Mom! You can't tell, but we ended up taping his mittens to his shirt in an effort to keep them on. It worked.

However, with mittens on, he thinks he can't pick anything up! But, he did manage to get in some play time with his favorite ball.

Zach comes in to mop up

Wow Dad, how much snow is that?

Ben about the house

Happy in our exersaucer!

Waiting patiently

Not sleeping outside, but the sun was a little bright!
