I have the best mom ever!!!!

So, the closets in the baby's room needed cleaning. My mom took EVERYTHING out and I told her where things were going. She did all the work! We organized drawers, the changing station, the diaper stuff, and all my breastfeeding baskets.

Mom in the tidy room!

The VERY organized closet! She's the best!

Still getting ready

Making another swaddler. With Aggie wondering where the birds are!

Mom and dad and calendars. If you'd like to know where I acquired my anal retentive sense of calendars and lists, you might note a couple of things on this table: 2 computers (with calendars open), 2 paper calendars, and 1 cell phone. This is for 3 people (Andrew wasn't there) and two of them spend 99.99% of their time with each other!

Medchen is getting ready too.

My back is REALLY starting to sway. This is at 38w6d. I had mild contractions that night, which was exciting. They didn't go anywhere (or I wouldn't be blogging now). But Andrew and I had fun timing them and getting used to the website we are going to use to time them!

The final weeks!

Our friends Chris and Kristen have a beautiful baby boy named Will. He's in some of the pictures at the baby shower. Chris and Kristen let us come over last weekend, so Andrew could spend some time with Will. Fortunately, Will is a pretty easy going baby and spent most of the day sleeping on Andrew. But Andrew was Very Brave and changed a diaper. We were all quite proud of him!

I can only imagine what Andrew is thinking!

37 1/2 weeks in this picture. Just got home from the hospital AGAIN for dehydration. Why yes, I am rather ready to have this baby!!! And would you believe, we went out to dinner that night and the waiter didn't know I was pregnant?!

NJVMA Animal Hall of Fame

The next 4 pictures are of MA1 John Washington, Renato F547 and myself (in disguise as CPT Pfannenstiel). On Sunday March 2, the New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association inducted the winners of the 2008 Animal Hall of Fame. Renato won in the "professional catergory". Past winners and their stories can be seen here at the NJVMA Foundation website. I recommend tissues. Having portraits done before the event

Isn't he handsome!

MA1 Washington gave a very moving acceptance speech. 27 MWDs (military working dogs) have been killed in the GWOT (Global War on Terrorism) the majority of these deaths have been from IEDs (improvised explosive devices). However, the Department of Defense credits MWDs with saving thousands of soldiers from various types of IEDs and other bombs. These dogs are hardworking and amazing. It was a privilege to share the stage with Renato and MA1 Washington.

Renato is looking out at the audience who gave us a standing ovation. Also deserving of an ovation is MA1 Washington's wife (who is camera shy). MA1 Washington has been deployed for the majority of 3 of the past 5 years. She also recieved a hearty round of applause.

The crib skirt

I sewed a crib skirt! I put in kick pleats! I am deeply proud of myself!

We couldn't manage to get the crib and the curtains in the same shot, but, the skirt is made out of the same fabric as the valance. And the sheets are blue gingham like the shade. This moments should be savored because it is the most coordinated I've ever been!
