Happy Homesteaders

This is a picture of the most perfect cheesecake I have ever made. Now, it is quite different from the chocolate kaluha cheesecake I have made in the past. This one was just a plain simple straight up, Happy Valentine's Day Andrew, cheesecake. It was glorious. Just the right combo of flavors and textures!

And what better activity than to plant seeds when there is 2 1/2 feet of snow on the ground? We are starting our seeds in Cow Pots. They are biodegradable and made of cow manure. So, after the threat of frost has passed, I'll plant the tomatoes in the pots in the ground!

Meanwhile, Dad and Ben brewed beer. This "New England Chestnut Brown Ale". Should be ready in about 8 weeks. Feel free to stop by for some! We have Celebrate Ale (like a Sierra Nevada Celebrate), British Bobby's Best Bitter, and Better than Sex Chocolate Stout bottled for drinking currently. We have a Belgian being cask conditioned as well. So clearly, we are rolling on the beer. Come down the shore and have some!

Taking advantage of the natural cooling system to cool the wort. Note the garden cart in the background. That cart comes up about 3 feet.
