More belly pics

Well now, THAT's a deeply unflattering picture. Taken on 2/11/08

This one is a little better. Taken on 2/13/08

New pics!

So this is me at 33 weeks and a bit. I declared that pair of scrub pants Too Small today. Alas, I got a lot of pregnancy wear out of them! So, the good news is that it has been 6 days and I haven't been to the hospital! I had a pretty icky day on Saturday and spent most of the day in bed though. No fun. Baby is completly compressing my lungs and I am having a pretty hard time breathing. Thankfully the shooting pain in my back seems to have subsided somewhat and I am back to getting fairly decent sleep! Time to stock up before the boy arrives!

And the cradle is coming along! Andrew has completed the rockers and the brace. Below is the the bottom of the cradle. Next up after the two boards glue together is to route it. Not sure what that entails, but Andrew seems excited about it!

Completed rockers drying with the brace.

Curtains!

Well, we got the curtains finished. Here is Andrew taking down the old grey blinds the previous owners had installed. I had always assumed that they were really dusty and I just couldn't clean them well, but no. They were made to look that way! Hmm, I think I'll order my blinds in dirty dishwater grey!

The valance is a bright yellow with bumble bees on it. And the shade is a blue gingham. They are lined (and wasn't THAT a pain to do). Not the worlds best picture, but it'll do for now!

I also promise more belly pics soon, but I've been in the hospital with the flu, so I'd like to get over the gaunt pregnant lady look first!

Baby's room 30 weeks

Still with Christmas stuff

A little tidier, and the furniture is all in the right spot. Now if I could just do something about the cat!

Getting ready for Baby

As of this writing, I am 30w5d. This means that the baby is coming really soon now! In an effort to learn how to use my new sewing machine (a fabulous gift from my fabulous mother in law MaryAnn) I am making curtains for his room. It's been an interesting process so far. I've only had to rip out one major seam.

Concentrating on making something approaching a straight seam as I line the curtains.

Andrew is preparing by playing with power tools

Alas, the chainsaw didn't quite work in the cold, so Andrew had to cut the 4x4s the old fashioned way. If you notice he's wearing all his correct safety gear! What a good daddy.

Renato

Renato is one of "my" Military Working Dogs (MWD). He's fabulous! He (and his handler MA1 John Washington, pictured above) deployed to Afghanistan in 2007 to fight in the GWOT. Renato performed so amazingly, I nominated him for the New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association Animal Hall of Fame when he came home. And he won! He's the top NJ performance dog! He's also the sweetest German Shepard (after Medchen of course). Note: Don't try this trick at home, most MWDs are mean and would just as soon eat you as sit on your couch and should always be muzzled. Renato is an exception.

Animal pics

Medchen has been very brave coming down the stairs lately

Aggie spends most of her day on our bed. She particularly likes the full body pillow I'm using these days. I am pretty sure she likes it more than I do.

Relaxing with the cat after the gym

I'm pretty sure this is another pic that will put us in the world's worst parents catergory. Oh well, the baby isn't going to be in the crib for a really long time.
